Description

Engineer New Offerings and Transform the Visitor Experience

No longer satisfied with passively observing a destination (sightseeing), travellers today want to connect with locals, immerse themselves in local culture, taste food that is grown nearby, and learn something new – whether about themselves or a destination.

Join Destination BC and Tourism Richmond for a 2-day workshop intended to shift your thinking beyond a tourism product to consider how your business can deliver local, authentic experiences that are designed with the BC traveller in mind.

Come ready with a potential idea for a new experience or enhancements to an experience you currently offer. Whether your goal is new revenue opportunities, new markets, or if you want to extend your season, the workshop is designed to provide a mix of information and activities that can help move your idea closer to reality.

Who Should Go

This session is for business owners and/or staff of established tourism businesses or organizations, such as museums or attractions, that are actively involved in creating visitor experiences, or in developing and designing new products.

Ideally, attendees are those that either make or can influence experience development decisions within an organization.

What You'll Learn:

  • What is a Tourism Experience? Why should you care?
  • Step-by-step design approach to introduce experiential tourism concepts and best practices
  • Traveller Data and Insights
  • Hands-on activities to help you enhance your product offerings or develop new traveller experiences
